Elon Musk’s X Platform Hit by Widespread Global Outage
Users worldwide reported being unable to view posts or refresh their timelines for several hours on Friday.

X Platform Suffers Major Disruption
X, the social media platform owned by Elon Musk, was hit by a major global outage on Friday, leaving users unable to access their feeds, refresh timelines, or post new content.
Initial reports of problems began to surface after 4 p.m., with data from the monitoring service Downdetector showing a sharp spike in user-filed complaints. The disruption appeared to be worldwide, affecting users on both iOS and Android mobile applications as well as the desktop browser version of the site.
Many who could log in were met with an empty timeline and a “Welcome to X!” message, even if they followed hundreds of profiles. Others reported an inability to send private messages or use the search function.
Instead of displaying the latest information, the platform showed users error messages, including one that read: “Something went wrong. Try reloading.”
The outage impacted not only regular users but also business and government accounts, which often rely on X as a critical channel for communication. Service began to return to normal around 6 p.m.
