Hyundai Slashes Kona Hybrid Price by €6,000, Undercutting Toyota Yaris Cross
The popular compact SUV is now available for €27,540 in a move to dominate the hybrid market in Spain.
Hyundai is intensifying its rivalry with Toyota in Spain‘s competitive compact SUV market, offering a significant €6,000 discount on its Kona Hybrid.
The promotion targets the popular Toyota Yaris Cross, positioning the Kona as a more powerful and spacious alternative at a lower price point. The Kona has already established a strong foothold, with 15,017 units registered last year, making it the 19th best-selling car in Spain. Within Hyundai’s lineup, its sales are second only to the larger Tucson.
This offer applies to the Kona Hybrid’s Maxx trim, bringing its final sale price down to €27,540 from a list price of €33,535.
The self-charging hybrid powertrain combines a 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine with an electric motor, producing a combined 138 hp and 265 Nm of torque. It features a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 11 seconds and has a top speed of 165 km/h. It achieves an average fuel consumption of 4.5 liters per 100 kilometers and CO2 emissions of 103 g/km under the WLTP cycle, earning it the DGT’s ECO label.
